Hi, love!I'm an independent author doubling as a freelance book cover designer & formatter. When I was publishing my debut novel, I struggled to find cover designers & formatters who would work within my budget. So I did it all myself, and after the wonderful response I received, I decided to start designing covers & formatting for others too.My mission is to partner with other indie authors to create striking covers and interiors that catch the eyes of readers, and do so at an affordable price. I am relatively new and entirely self-taught in graphic design, and I appreciate every opportunity to create stunning books that leave an impression on readers and authors alike.Thank you for letting me be part of your story.

All premade covers are available for the advertised flat rate. A premade cover package includes a paperback and eBook cover design.These covers are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Full payment will be required immediately and no refunds will be granted. Payment will be processed via PayPal and the cover files will be sent once payment has been received and text customizations have been made.All premade cover text is customizable, and each cover will be resized according to page count and trim size free of charge. If you would like any other changes made to the cover, they may be subject to a processing fee. This fee is dependent on the extent of the changes.

Payments

A non-refundable 25% deposit is required at the time of booking. This will be sent via email through PayPal and must be paid within 5 days of the sent invoice date.Final payment is required once the project is completed and approved. The final files will be delivered via Google Drive once payment has been received.

Timeline

Cover Design
Turnaround time from booking date is 2 weeks, excluding any necessary re-drafts.Novel & Navy Designs offers 1 free re-draft and unlimited revisions from the first cover sent. Any further re-drafts will be subject to a fee. Please allow up to 2 weeks for each draft period.Post-completion adjustments to the cover, such as blurb edits or trim resizing, will be done free of charge. Please contact the designer if this is necessary for you.Formatting
Turnaround time from booking date is 1 week, excluding any necessary revisions.Novel & Navy Designs offers a 7-day aftercare period for grammatical changes or spelling errors, as well as 1 free revision period for design changes. Any further revisions will be subject to a $10+ fee, depending on the extent of the revision. Please allow up to 1 week for each revision period.Post-completion adjustments to the book, such as margin resizing or font changes, will be subject to a fee. This fee is dependent on the extent of the changes. Please contact the designer if this is necessary for you.Branding & Website Design
Turnaround time from booking date is 1 week, excluding any necessary revisions. Novel & Navy Designs will be in touch every step of the way to ensure branding and website design suits your needs.

Attribution

Cover Design
Novel & Navy Designs requires design credit in the form of “Cover Design by Novel & Navy Designs” on the copyright page in eBook copies & on the back cover of physical copies. In the event of a cover reveal, social media post, or book tour, credit to @novelandnavydesigns on Instagram must be given.Formatting
Novel & Navy Designs requires design credit in the form of “Formatting by Novel & Navy Designs” on the copyright page in eBook & physical copies. In the event of a format reveal, social media post, or book tour, credit to @novelandnavydesigns on Instagram must be given.Website Design
Novel & Navy Designs requires design credit in the form of “Website Designed by Novel & Navy Designs” at the bottom of the home page on your website.

Project Termination

Either party may terminate this contract at any time for any reason they deem necessary with written notice.If the client decides to cancel a project after booking but prior to designer's start date, no additional charges will incur, nor will their deposit be refunded. If the project has been started but no re-drafts or revisions have been done, the client will be responsible for paying 25% of the project total prior to project termination. If the project has been started and re-drafts or revisions have been done, the client will be responsible for paying 50% of the project total prior to project termination. This is to account for designers time and resources used.Should the client choose to cancel this project after project completion, the client will remain responsible for full payment of the agreed upon total.Should the designer opt to cancel a project after booking, the client will be reimbursed for their deposit.

Restrictions

The client does not have any rights or permission to modify, alter, replicate, or steal any of the ideas, concepts, or designs that Novel & Navy Designs presents. Furthermore, designs and their concept, including layout, image style, colouring, placement, and fonts are not permitted to be recreated or altered by another person.All original preparation materials including drafts, sketches, visuals and unused ideas shown and considered will remain the property of Novel & Navy Designs.Should the client attempt to modify, alter, replicate, or steal any of Novel & Navy Designs' work, legal counsel will be taken.

Confidentiality

Novel & Navy Designs hereby acknowledges she that may be involved in or become aware of information that relates to the client on a personal level including information related to the client’s past, future, present, customer names, marketing plans, project information, and financial documents. Novel & Navy Designs agrees to protect all the above information and keep any information obtained confidential. However, the designer will be permitted to display final work on their website, social media, and in promotional materials.
